Market volunteering:  UPDATE July 2017: Currently we are not accepting anymore volunteer applications.  Due to an overwhelming response, we are at capacity this season. Wow. Thank you.

If you are interested in helping sustain the market, getting to know farmers/vendors, appreciate a little great urban-outdoors and not afraid of a little physical work, then this is for you. It's a rewarding experience and our vendors (farming is back breaking work) truly appreciate the hand.

Key shifts are as follows but not limited to...

12:30 to 2pm - early set up - pylons reserve vendor parking - one dedicated person

2pm to 3:30pm - vendor load in/set up

3:30 to 7:30pm - help with general tasks during market, tend the info tent

6:30 to 7:45pm - wrap/clean up for vendors and organizational

You can sign up for any length of time during the season.  Some volunteers do the entire season, some do a few months or take a break and come back in the fall.  We understand unforeseen events that may cause volunteers to reschedule. Just give us notification and we coordinate. Easy peasy!

Lead volunteer opportunity: This responsible person would help the manager oversee on-the-day operational logistics and be available from set up to wrap thoughout most of season. Once they have a grasp of things, occasionaly oversee market setup/wrap in the absence of the manager. Ability to take instruction is important. Other than that it's hanging at market making sure it's all good.  (There could be bonuses ;-) This a great learning opportunity for students or anyone interested in local agriculture, volunteerism, organizational work and logistics.  Highschool students are eligble for community hours. We sometimes need volunteers outside of market season for various tasks (flyer/lawn sign distrubution, painting, handy work, social media etc.) Market logistics is team work and many of our local community members have made some awesome contributions over the years.  We are so grateful for their generousity over the years and welcome newbies! The more the merrier we say!

Lawn signs!  We strategically place them in the neighbourhood.  If you have a bit of real estate you can loan us for the season, contact us and we'll see if we can fit you in.  Super cute, non-invasive. And a colourful way to remind folks.
