Here we go, first day of the 2010 Season! TBFM is happy to be returning to bring the community fresh, local, organic & naturally raised produce, meats, dairy other fine food products. To to www.tbfm.ca for more info. The market is community volunteer operated and is regularly in need of help, as it's a fluid situation and people come and go. If you can dedicate some time on your Tuesdays to help set up, or load vendor in/out, please contact me for more details. We'd love to have you and it's lots of fun in the urban outdoors of our Park.

Hello loyal patrons. This coming Tuesday is the final day of the 2009 season. Sigh. So come on down and buy last of the fresh local, organic and naturally grown produce. There's an amazing selection available. As well as bread, meats, pies, crackers, baked goods - all the wonderful stuff you've been feasting on this season. Buy lots, cause you can freeze just about everything, thus sustaining yourself for the winter and helping sustain our vendors. Not sure how to freeze fresh vegetables? Just ask your farmer/vendor. They will be more than happy to give advice. Please ask our meat vendor, Twin Creeks Farm, and our trout fish vendor, Lovell Springs Trout Farm, about getting their product though the winter.
Stay tuned for the 2010 Market Season!
Hello all you dedicated market patrons! This is just a reminder that rain or shine we go. Which means were there today, despite these feeble weather predictions. Bounty is in, lots of fresh produce on the tables and some soft fruits still coming. The market starts at 3pm sharp, and ends at 7pm. Bring your umbrella, then it won't rain!
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, believe it, or not. Saucier Foods needs to take orders today. Why so early you say? Well them birds need time for all that love and care to deliver them to your likin ;-) Please come on down to day and order your all natural, chemical and drug FREE turkey today!
FYI Our fish vendor will be back today. Your order that you didn't get last week because of his absence (road repair on farm) will be there today for you.
Hi all,
Just wanted to let you know that Lovell Springs cannot make the market today. The lane way to his fish on the farm has been washed out and it has to be fixed. In his words, "...it's become a monster". He sends his apologizes and will be there next week. To those that have ordered fish, I suspect he will bring them next week. if you'd like to confirm this, please email Sean at - slovell@xplornet.com. Thank you for understanding.
Blueberries from Freskiw will be there. As well as all our usual vendors and their splendid produce and products!
Eat well, Carolyn

The bounty from the farmers is really coming in now. It's my favorite time of year, okay, I"m an 'Autumn' ;-) Checkout www.tbfm.ca for more details of produce you'll find. But there's also wonderful fruit still arriving. So there's time to do some jamming still! And think about freezing some beans to last the winter. Nothing like eating local beans in January, frozen by your own self. It's darn easy. Instructions at tbfm.ca.
Please, come out, come out! Last market day was absolutely warm and sunny. Forecast is looking good for Sept. See you there!
Hello all,
As you may or may not know, Montforte Dairy is going through a Renaissance! Please check out the website, www.monfortedairy.com to find out more. Ruth is offering CSA's through the Renaissance program. Very interesting, ground breaking and fantastic way to sustain an Ontario Cheesemaker.
Last market day was raining. Sigh. Please, do not fear the rain! Come on out. Produce loves it and so do the animals and trees. And market runs though rain, sleet or snow. See you all next week!
Just friendly reminder about the Food Bank accepting donations of produce or bread, at Farmers Markets July 21st. Please consider a donation to a worthy cause. ALSO, we got wild blueberries today! Come and get 'em.
Yep, we finally be getting rain on a market day. Do not fear the rain loyal patrons! It's all good. See you tomorrow. Oh, if you ordered fish, please, please show up to pick it up. If you cannot make it or going to be late, ring 416.435.8860 to let us know. Hopefully this will avoid disappointment and/or waste. Thank you.
Hello everyone, if you ordered any trout last week for this week, Sean will be bringing it. Please ensure that you come today and pick it up. There's aprx 70 lbs that have been ordered and it's not like he can save it for another day ;-) He will start selling off orders in the late afternoon if pick-ups are not showing. Thank you for supporting our local fish farmer.
The market will continue during this unfortunate strike for as long as we can. Back in 2002 the market location became an illegal dumping ground. If that happens again, well, the volunteers and I can only move so much and it would become a serious health issue. Which obviously we could not expose the food to and would have to stop.
